Virtual Tour at World Dairy Expo with Royal Dairy - video recording now available

For 3,200 free stalls, Royal Dairy, of Royal City, WA, was using 80 tons of bedding every single day. This volume contributed to a lot of trucking and solids in their wastewater stream, resulting in extra costs and headaches. So, they looked for a solution and found one with DCC Waterbeds.

“We’re already using 75% less bedding at this point,” Austin Allred, owner of Royal Dairy, said at a presentation given at World Dairy Expo when DCC had completed installation in about half of his stalls. With that decrease, the farm reduced barn labor by one person, and the operational efficiency of their worm powered BioFiltro wastewater system greatly benefits from the reduction in large solids.

Cow adaptation was a critical question prior to installation, but the cows at Royal Dairy seemed to have no problem getting comfortable.

BioFiltro bet Royal Dairy that their worm powered wastewater system would transform their manure storage pond into one apt for water sports. BioFiltro’s CEO and Austin Allred, Royal Dairy’s owner, made dreams into reality. Check out the video below.
